“Write it on your heart that everyday is the best day in the year.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
It’s officially 2017. I finished my first semester of graduate school with a 4.0, I’m almost five months into my new job and I just got a new hairdo. I’m feeling great!
2016 was a rollercoaster. It was filled with many ups and downs. It brought on many heartaches and lessons. It made me face loss again, but it also blessed me with new beginnings. It was a year that tested me, and forced me to stay strong and determined.
As I embark on this new journey, that is 2017, I realized that I’ve lost myself. I lost my inner peace and happiness in 2016. So as I brought in this new year, I made myself a promise to make 2017 the year of ME. A year where I focus on myself and my happiness.

It’s easy to lose ourselves in the day to day routine or get caught up trying to climb out of that hole we may be stuck in.
Then there comes a moment when you pause, and realize that your routine has lost excitement and that the air feels better outside the hole; you then find the happiness you lost on the way. Make 2017 about changes. Make 2017 about walking a new path. Make 2017 about finding peace within. Make 2017 the year of YOU.
