Trust.

“Trust the wait. Embrace the uncertainty. Enjoy the beauty of becoming. When nothing is certain, anything is possible” – Mandy Hale

Trusting is hard. However, the funny thing is that you can’t live without trusting…I mean at least yourself. No trust in yourself means no faith in yourself and ultimately, that negativity limits your changes of succeeding.

About two years ago I didn’t trust anything. Love was playing games, I seemed to keep failing and though I truly wasn’t alone, I felt like I couldn’t trust anything but the dreams that lightened up my night while I slept. I was scared, scared to be stuck, scared to fail, scared to not find love, scared to wait and embrace the uncertainty of the future. I was fragile and my heart was filled with insecurities.

Then, as many already know, I was encouraged to do my list and tackle on things I had put on the back burner. I didn’t realize it at the time but the list challenged me to trust. It challenged me to trust in myself and my capability of not only accomplishing the things on my list but, trusting that I could discover the bits and pieces of myself that make me who I am.

When my friend Krystal asked me to join her May writing challenge I was excited because who doesn’t love a challenge? [Check out her Blog] Each week we will focus on a word and funny enough this week’s is Trust. Trust is the foundation of my blog because when I had none, this blog allowed me to open myself more as I unfolded the tasks on my list.

I also challenged myself to trust in the uncertainty of life. I have come to realize that because nothing is certain everything is possible. Two years ago, when trust was merely a word without any foundation, the thought of uncertainty made my cringe. Today, I proudly stand on the ledge of uncertainty and look straight, awaiting the unknown.

Trust can be scary but scarier is to live in fear of life. Trust in your failures because they will make you stronger. Trust in the unknown because it creates a bridge of possibilities. Trust in love because it gives us hope…. but most importantly, trust in yourself because you have the power to be great!

Hoagie Dip

I love to cook and to try new recipes. It’s something I discovered a few years back. So whenever I get the opportunity I try something new.

Recently, at work, I was talking to my supervisor about her best dip: The Hoagie Dip. I had absolutely no idea what a Hoagie Dip was. I looked it up Click Here For Original Recipe and discovered that it’s the contents of an Italian Hoagie mixed together. (Hoagie is another word for a sub sandwich.)

I decided to surprise my supervisor by making my team the dip. Surprisingly, it turned out to be a huge success! I was so pleased. Yesterday, I even made it for my uncle’s wife reveal party (she’s having a girl! Yay!) and it was also also a huge success! My mom cannot stop raving about it being a great dip to bring to parties.

After all this success with the dip I just find the need to share with everyone how simple it is to make!

365 Pages

All over the world new goals and dreams are set into place for 2015. Immediately, 2015 became the year of possibility and hope. January 1, 2015 feels fresh and promising!

On December 31, 2014 we all said goodbye to a year filled with all sorts of accomplishments and failures. We all did it our own way either alone, with family, friends or loved ones. Traditions were set into play: Champagne, 12 grapes, the right color of underwear, everyone has their own. Regardless, it was a celebration, big or small but once the clock turned to 12:00AM it was a new beginning.

Today, we begin to write our book of 365 pages. We smile at the world because we feel unstoppable. Today, we begin to dream big all over again because the air smells fresh with the scent of hope. Today, we try to smile even if we didn’t welcome in the year quite as we wanted because there are better days ahead. Today, we forget about our future hardships because we are excited about the new possibilities. Today, I begin to write my book of 365 pages and it’s starting with a small positive note to you.

Lets not forget what we learned from 2014 and put it into action in 2015. Lets start executing our New Years resolution. Lets do what we can’t see ourselves capable of doing. Lets be great!

Happy New Year!
